Asaba – In a remarkable display of compassion and commitment to the welfare of senior citizens, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, wife of the Delta State Governor, empowered 250 elderly persons during the third edition of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Elderly Support Scheme on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Each beneficiary received ₦200,000, a bag of rice, and access to free medical care.
Addressing attendees, Deaconess Oborevwori highlighted her unwavering dedication to ensuring that senior citizens live with dignity and comfort. “Our elderly deserve care, respect, and recognition for their lifelong contributions. The programme featured a comprehensive free medical outreach, offering general health check-ups, blood pressure and sugar monitoring, and distribution of essential medications. Beneficiaries shared heartfelt gratitude, with many noting that the financial assistance and healthcare support would significantly ease their daily challenges and improve their overall quality of life.
